Nature Makers: A Campus Rewilding Project
Saturday, 24 May 2025 | 10:00 - 14:00

An interactive, half-day co-creation workshop for students.

Facilitated by conference scientists, architects, urbanists and a team of Nature-Based Learning specialists, this hands-on workshop offers students the chance to collaborate with experts and their peers to redesign an area of their school—transforming it into a place of nature, retreat, recreation and discovery for the benefit of their school community. The workshop will culminate with student-led presentations of their final designs.

As a non-profit organization with the aim of reconnecting people with nature, we are dedicated to align with principles of sustainability, community engagement, public health advocacy and global collaboration. To date, the following sustainable measures have been put in place to minimize our ecological footprint and prioritize the well-being of our attendees and communities.

Communication & Marketing:

  • Reduction of printed materials, favoring digital communication

  • Use of recycled paper when printing is necessary

  • Elimination of promotional giveaways

Decoration, Setup, & Infrastructure:

  • Furniture, temporary structures and decoration rented for the event are reusable

  • We do not use carpeting

  • Luxexpo The Box is powered by 100% renewable electricity

Mobility:

  • Encouragement of sustainable transportation for participants

  • Bicycle parking available

Waste Management:

  • Waste sorting is implemented during the setup and dismantling of the event, with clear instructions

Catering Offerings:

  • Seasonal, local, and organic products whenever possible

  • Vegan and vegetarian alternatives are available

  • We make use of reusable dishes

Accessibility & Inclusivity

  • We promote gender equality and diversity in the participation of our event

  • We enhance social, human, or cultural accessibility to make our event more inclusive
