Son of a family of artisans (my father was a carpenter and my mother came from a family of bakers) I’ve been happily married for more than thirty years now with Dani, daughter and sister of winemakers. Dani and I are the blessed parents of two children (Julie and Felix) who are, in our opinion, really good people.
Holder of a master's degree and a license in law from the University of Strasbourg, I have spent most of my professional career in a Big 4 before until 2010 when I decided it was time to change course. Today I am investing part of my experience and energy on the boards of a variety of companies in Luxembourg and abroad, and dedicate the other half of my time to social projects, especially those targeting education and sustainable development.
Coming from an artisanal background and having quickly realized how much my well-being is dependent on my contact with nature as well as other humans, I now have the impression that I have always cultivated both privately and as professional, a sort of 'triple bottom-line,' a concept that has been talked about so much in recent years in the business world. This concept of triple bottom-line is also more concretely referred to as the three P’s: “Planet, People, Profit.”
I dare to hope that the world after Covid will be different, and I am deeply convinced that the fight against climate change, as well as the personal and professional well-being of all of us, involves a general re-connecting with nature, seeing a re-sensitization of all of us to the vital role of nature for our survival and our well-being as a necessary step towards a better future. It is therefore with great enthusiasm that I agreed to join this dynamic, innovative and determined team of l’Université dans la Nature, whose objectives are in perfect symbiosis with my personal convictions.
