"Short-Stay" Project
June 2023 - in progress
With: CNP Saint-Martin and École Escale, Société Royale Forestière Belgique & Fondation Roi Baudoin
Objective: To offer teenagers hospitalized for mental health reasons an opportunity to reconnect with nature, particularly the forest, to enjoy its therapeutic benefits.
Description: The “short stays” project offers teenagers hospitalized for mental health disorders the opportunity to take part in three-day, two-night stays in the forest. Ten stays are organized between June 2023 and December 2024, with groups of six teenagers and at least two accompanying adults per group. The aim is to enable young people to reconnect with nature and benefit from the soothing and regenerative effects of the forest. At the end of 2024, a vade mecum will be drawn up by the project partners, including an evaluation of the stays and recommendations for replicating the initiative.
