Nature (Re)Connection in: French
When I close my eyes and think of my childhood, I see nature.
I see the trees I loved and the streams where I played. I remember the adventures in the countryside and the expeditions in the mountains. I see myself lying in the grass or in the snow, my gaze lost in the vastness of the sky. These memories are deeply ingrained in me, inseparable from who I am today. For me, nature is synonymous with a free and happy childhood. It is part of my foundation.
Leaving my native Lac-Saint-Jean to study photography, I gradually lost touch with the connection that once bound me to nature. Years later, art helped me rediscover it. I realized how essential nature is to my well-being—it allows me to hear myself despite the noise of everyday life. It soothes me. In nature, I am truly myself.
Today, I photograph nature from different angles, capturing the often-overlooked details. I believe there is so much to see, and that nature is an endless source of inspiration—one that extends far beyond art. That is why I want to share with you the richness that emerges when we take the time to see it differently.
A few questions for Isabelle…
What brings you the most comfort in nature?
Sitting or lying down and taking the time to feel the elements—without speaking, without doing anything. Just surrendering to my senses.
When do you feel the need to reconnect with nature?
When my thoughts become unclear and everything moves too fast. I go into nature to find calm and recharge my energy.
Which sense connects you instantly to nature?
Sight. Of course, I see immense beauty in nature, but I’m also captivated by how it constantly moves and changes. There’s always a new detail to observe!
